The choreography of Alison Chase/Performance is noted for its often dramatic partnering sequences—dancers support each other in unexpected, surprising combinations, literally and figuratively elevating each other beyond what can be accomplished alone. This same dynamic infuses our approach to collaboration with partners of all forms. We strive to bring transformative dance experiences to a range of contexts, and our portfolio includes:
Corporate & Leadership Workshops
Using Alison's skills as an integrator, collaborator and teacher, we can facilitate a process that allows everyone to bring their own visions into the creative process. Workshops extend participants’ ability and agility to work and perform in powerful new ways. Through improvisation and non-traditional partnering techniques we can address key issues that all corporations seeking innovation are faced, such as:
All this is accomplished in a casual and playful environment that requires no previous dance experience.
Special Events & Commercial Projects
Alison brings decades of experience to special events and commercial endeavors, with diverse projects ranging from corporations such as Mobile Oil and IBM to the National Organization of Hadassah. Alison's ability to listen and bring a dramatic freshness to the ideas on the table is the mark of her success.
Alison has a unique ability to marry her own aesthetic with a partner’s artistic mission and vision, and she has created original choreography for clients from traditional venues such as the Ballet du Rhin, Lyons Ballet, Walton Arts Center and Wolf Trap, to more unexpected collaborations like those with the Rockettes or Ringing Rocks, an organization that specializes in healing.
Alison Chase/Performance strives to maintain an active presence in the communities where we work and live. Quarryography, for instance, was a five-year collaboration with Opera House Arts in Stonington Maine that included community members ages 8 to 65, a live steel band, professional dancers, a 25-foot puppet and a performing excavator. Over the course of a seven-year collaboration, Alison created The Urban Nutcracker for an inner-city school in downtown Cleveland. Community programs are designed for short timeframes as well, and can be tailored to fit a collaborator’s needs and availability.
